A new anchor for Houston TV! Marcelino Benito will now anchor the KHOU newscast on CW39 at 9pm. Benito previously anchored at KHOU until after his second child was born in May 2025. KHOU meteorologist Trevor Birchett will do the weather on the show. KHOU takes over the CW39 9pm newscast starting on August 29th. Word is that the weekend anchor will be Cheryl Mercedes. Houston television station KTRK ABC 13 had been doing the newscasts for KIAH.
