Fox News Channel has hit 85 consecutive quarters as the highest-rated cable network in prime time. It finished the first quarter of 2023 in first place drawing an average audience of 2.088 million viewers. MSNBC had 1.110 million and CNN 568,000. All the networks saw a year-over-year decline in total audience in prime time. Among viewers 25-54 Fox was number one in prime time with an average audience of 259,000. That was down 40% from a year ago.

Spectrum News 1 in Southern California said today that journalist Seth Lemon will join the network as morning anchor in January 2023. Lemon will co-anchor Your Mornings on Spectrum News 1 alongside anchor Giselle Fernandez. He will make his on-air debut on Jan. 9. A veteran anchor and reporter, Lemon has more than a decade of experience in broadcast and digital news. He recently was managing editor for digital platforms at KNX News radio in Los Angeles, curating the station’s social media and web presence.

Irene Cruz has been named weekend morning anchor at Los Angeles ABC owned station KABC. Cruz posted the news on social media saying she is”officially joining” Marc Cota-Robles and Tony Cabrera as the new weekend morning anchor and reporter. “To be a journalist in the place I grew up has always been my dream!” said Cruz. “Thank you for letting me be a part of your mornings. I hope to serve Southern California, my home, as best as I can. Truly, I am grateful.”

Fox 26 Houston adds Caroline Collins to the anchor lineup. Caroline Collins has joined Fox O&O KRIV Houston. Effective next month, she will anchor various station evening newscasts.
